Hello everyone!
My name is Brandy Escalera, I am one of the two Pre-Kindergarten teachers at McKinley Elementary. Although this is my first year teaching Pre-K as a fully certified teacher, I do have three years of experience as a Pre-K teacher's aide-- also at Tulsa Public Schools--under my belt. I genuinely enjoy working with this age group, and I can not wait to build a series of amazing memories with all of my students this year!
I graduated from Northeastern State University, where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. Some of my goals as a teacher include providing my students with a warm and safe space that feels like a second home; as well as providing them with the tools necessary to build a strong academic backround, strong social skills, and a strong sense of self. I am also big on family, and it is my belief that with your support, WE will be able to accomplish these goals and much, much more!
I was born and raised here in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I have two brothers, and I am the middle child. When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, drawing, hiking and hanging with my dogo, Charlie!
